Orthodontic Surgical Treatment of Impacted Mandibular Canines: Systematic Review and Case Report

Background: In the literature, there are few studies on included mandibular canines and possible therapeutic solutions for arch restoration. The aim of this review was to evaluate how recovery is performed in adolescent patients with mixed or permanent dentition. clinical case reported that successful orthodontic surgical treatment an 11-year-old mixed-dentition patient right canine. Methods: A literature search using PubMed/Medline, Scopus, Web Science, Cochrane Library databases following Boolean indicators: canine, mandibular, impacted. inclusion criteria were year publication between 2017 2022, canine approach included, age 9 18 years, free full text, English language. Results: total 536 articles identified through electronic search, 11 published 2022 ultimately qualitative analysis. Conclusions: majority cases, combined surgical–orthodontic therapy, as we reviewed, correcting eruption defect, restoring occlusion physiological perimeter, maintaining health periodontal supporting tissues.
